- Hi, my name is Tim H. Corban, or Capin Tebo to my Young Eagle friends. I may have inherited my love for flying from my grandfather, Donald Headings. But wherever my love for flying came from, I discovered it around age 8, when my family went to an airshow. Ever since that day, I would look up into the sky and envy the birds flying so freely. I dreamed of the day that I would be able to fly. Any time I was outside, my eyes were on the sky...looking for birds, airplanes or anything else that flew! To me flying represents FREEDOM. Like many pilots will tell you, it is almost a spiritual experience.

- After getting my drivers permit at age 15, I would get the sudden urge to pull back on the steering wheel as I was driving down the road...wishing my car would begin flying! Well, as we all know, you can pull back on a car's steering wheel and it's not going anywhere by straight down the highway...ONĀ THEĀ GROUND. How incredibly disappointing!
- Then at age 16, I took my first flying lesson! Wow! The world became alive as I soared above it. I had never experienced anything like it. And nothing compares to flying. Oh how I wish I could have started flying sooner. But, at least I was able to start lessons when I did. But before I could finish and get my private pilot license, I found the one and only thing on earth that was more important to me than flying...the girl that became my beloved wife...and then 4 children. And they are still more important to me than flying. However, even though flying is in my blood, with supporting a wife and trying to raise 4 children, my flying had to be postponed. Then in 1996, I was finally able to finish up, and I earned my private pilot license!
I now have over 150 hrs logged and am working towards earning my commercial and instrument ratings. I have logged time in a number of different types of airplanes including complex aircraft (airplanes with retractable landing gear and a variable pitch prop), and recently earned my tail dragger endorsement.
- I became a Young Eagles Volunteer Pilot in 1996, shortly after earning my private pilot license. Most recently, I have earned the status of Young Eagles Flight Leader by the EAA. The reason I became a Young Eagles Volunteer Pilot is simple. I love to fly! I love kids! And I can't think of a better way to spend my flying time than to share it with kids and give them the opportunity to experience the sense of freedom and excitement that I feel every time I leave the surface of the earth. Will your child be the next one to experience this freedom? They could be! The ride is FREE and your child will have an experience they will always remember and cherish! All you have to do is print and fill out an application form, then call or e-mail Capin Tebo to schedule your child's Young Eagle Flight!
